Les quatre criques constituent un paysage protégé de la Région de Murcie. Il est considéré comme un Lieu d'Intérêt Communautaire et fait partie du réseau Natura 2000.[1]
Situé dans la municipalité d'Águilas, il comprend les criques de Calarreona, La Higuerica, La Carolina et Los Cocedores, cette dernière étant déjà à proximité de la province d'Almería. L'érosion du vent et de la mer a créé des paysages singuliers, avec de nombreux affleurements volcaniques. Parmi eux se trouve le volcan de Punta Parda, qui est considéré comme d'une grande importance géologique.
