En 1830, l'édifice du culte, dédié à Saint Laurent, qui avait été agrandi en 1779, fut démoli et reconstruit, en plus grand. Durant les années 1860 - 1864, furent construits un nouveau tambour et un nouveau clocher surmonté d'une flèche pyramidale qui tournait l'une de ses arêtes vers le Sud.
Fortement endommagée par les bombardements à la fin de la dernière guerre, l'église ne fut réparée qu'en 1949.
