In 1830 werd het aan St. Lawrence gewijde kerkgebouw, dat in 1779 was vergroot, afgebroken en in een groter formaat herbouwd. In de jaren 1860 - 1864 werden een nieuwe trommel en een nieuwe klokkentoren gebouwd, bekroond door een piramidale spits die een van zijn randen naar het zuiden keerde.
De kerk werd zwaar beschadigd door bombardementen aan het einde van de laatste oorlog en werd pas in 1949 hersteld.
