Le passage des Trois Pagodes est à 22 km de Sangkhlaburi. Les trois pagodes étaient autrefois trois tas de pierres ; d'où le nom du lieu "Les trois tas de pierres". Plus tard, les tas de pierres ont été recouverts par des chedis. Cette zone était un passage frontalier intensément utilisé par les armées thaïlandaise et birmane depuis la première attaque birmane sur Ayutthaya en 1568/69 après J.-C. jusqu'à la guerre des neuf forces armées à l'époque du roi Rama Ier (1785 après J.-C.). Cela marque également la frontière accidentée entre la Thaïlande et le Myanmar et est le site d'un petit marché frontalier florissant.
