La Poelestraat à Groningen va de la Grote Markt au Diepenring. À l'origine, c'était surtout une rue commerçante, aujourd'hui c'est l'un des principaux centres de vie nocturne de Groningen.
La rue, qui était connue sous le nom de Polstraat au Moyen Âge, allait du Hondsrug aux prairies dans le lit de la Hunze. 'Pol' : des terres plus élevées, également appelées wierde. Lors des fouilles en 1989, des revêtements de route datant du XIe siècle ont été découverts. La rue est mentionnée pour la première fois en 1325.
