Woudrichem est une ancienne ville fortifiée sur la Merwede dans la province du Brabant-Septentrional dans le pays de Heusden et Altena, dans la commune d'Altena. Woudrichem compte un peu plus de 4000 habitants. C'était aussi une ancienne commune, avant de fusionner avec la commune d'Altena.
Woudrichem se situe au nord du pays d'Altena à l'embouchure de la Maas endiguée dans la Waal. Ces deux rivières continuent ensemble comme la Boven-Merwede. Ce confluent est également le « point des trois provinces » où se rejoignent les frontières des provinces de Hollande-Méridionale, Brabant-Septentrional et Gueldre.
