Lors de l'achat de Gooilust, l'un des domaines de 's-Graveland, en 1777, Gerrit Corver Hooft, le dernier bailli du Gooi, reçut en emphytéose une grande partie de l'actuel Corversbos. Dans la forêt se trouvent encore quelques fermes. Sur les champs du Corversbos, des outils en pierre datant des plus anciens habitants du Gooi, les néandertaliens d'il y a environ 250 000 ans, ont été trouvés. Ces outils peuvent être admirés au Centre d'information archéologique de la province de Hollande du Nord à Castricum.
