Sur les rives de la Geeuw, l'ancienne voie navigable entre IJlst et Sneek, se trouve le moulin à bois unique "de Rat", qui est encore en pleine production. Des troncs flottent sur l'eau, le bruit des ailes en rotation, le fracas des cadres de scie qui montent et descendent, l'odeur du bois fraîchement coupé, ici vous expérimentez encore l'ancien métier de scieur de bois tel qu'il est pratiqué quotidiennement dans "De Rat" depuis plus de 3 siècles.
Le moulin est ouvert tous les samedis de 9h00 à 17h00 et, de mai à septembre, également le mercredi, jeudi et vendredi de 10h00 à 17h00.
