Au sommet de la Kollenberg à Sittard se trouve la chapelle Sainte-Rosa. Un petit bâtiment en briques et en marne, avec une grande et riche histoire. La chapelle a été construite en 1675 en l'honneur de Rosa, la sainte patronne de Sittard. En 1668, une épidémie de dysenterie a éclaté à Sittard, causant de nombreuses victimes. À la demande de Rosa, la maladie contagieuse a cessé.
Le conseil municipal a alors promis d'organiser chaque année, le dernier dimanche d'août, une procession vers la chapelle Sainte-Rosa. Sittard a tenu sa promesse et depuis 1675, cette célèbre procession de remerciement a lieu chaque année. Au mois d'août, vous pouvez également visiter la chapelle de l'intérieur, entre 14h00 et 16h30.
