Fort Bath
Le 18 octobre 1785, le Général Dumoulin reçut la mission du Conseil d'État de chercher un emplacement approprié pour un fort. Début 1786, il proposa un plan pour le construire sur le Batse Kaaij. Après l'exécution des travaux de terrassement, la construction des bâtiments militaires, tels qu'un magasin à poudre, des casemates et des casernes, commença en 1787. Ceux-ci étaient suffisamment grands pour abriter un contingent de 300 militaires. Le fort avait deux missions principales, à savoir la surveillance ou la restriction de la navigation vers et depuis Anvers et la protection de l'est de Zuid-Beveland.
Kazernestraat, Schansweg et Arsenaalstraat sont des références au Fort Bath.
