La tour d'eau à Laren a été conçue par l'architect Wouter Hamdorff pour le compte de l'Office provincial des eaux de Noord-Holland et a été construite entre 1931 et 1933. Selon le cahier des charges, il était prévu que la tour d'eau serve également de tour d'observation.
La tour est située le long de la route nationale Ouest et est faite de béton et recouverte de klinkers. La tour d'eau a une hauteur de 35,65 mètres et deux réservoirs d'eau de chacun 500 m³.
