Le Fort H fait partie de la Forteresse de Muiden et a été construit entre 1873 et 1877. Il était entouré de fossés et avait pour but de stocker des armes et des munitions. Il fait partie de la Ligne de défense d'Amsterdam. En 1962, le pont de la Vecht a été construit à côté du fort, ce qui a nécessité un comblement d'une partie du fossé.
