Le Schicht est un monument sur l'île de Texel qui commémore l'élévation des digues à la hauteur du delta.
La catastrophe des inondations de 1953, qui a inondé une grande partie de la province de Zélande, a également eu des conséquences pour l'île de Texel. Le polder De Eendracht a débordé et six hommes de Texel ont perdu la vie. Après cette inondation, toutes les digues de l'île ont été rehaussées à la hauteur du delta pour prévenir une future catastrophe des inondations. Cela a été fait entre 1961 et 1981.
