Le port de Koper est le seul port maritime de Slovénie. En 2008, le port a traité un transbordement de 16 millions de tonnes. Le port appartient à et est géré par l'entreprise portuaire Luka Koper. Grâce à la connexion avec la mer Adriatique et à sa situation, le port de Koper est important pour l'Europe centrale et orientale. Koper est situé à seulement 11 km de la plus connue Trieste en Italie.
