Il molo di Blankenberge è stato costruito nel 1933 su un progetto di Jules Soete. È realizzato in cemento e si estende per 350 metri nel Mare del Nord. Il molo di Blankenberge è stato il primo sulla costa atlantica del continente europeo e da allora ha avuto solo la compagnia di Scheveningen.
Fu un londinese, John Hendrey, a presentare nel 1873 una prima proposta alla città di Blankenberge per costruire un molo all'altezza di Kerkstraat. Il consiglio comunale rifiutò perché la pianificazione centrale minacciava di dividere la località balneare. Anche le proposte del 1881 e del 1883 furono respinte.
