Die Pier von Blankenberge wurde 1933 nach einem Entwurf von Jules Soete erbaut. Sie besteht aus Beton und ragt 350 Meter weit in die Nordsee. Die Blankenberger Pier war die erste an der Atlantikküste des europäischen Festlands und hat seitdem nur Gesellschaft von Scheveningen erhalten.
Es war ein Londoner, John Hendrey, der 1873 der Stadt Blankenberge den ersten Vorschlag machte, eine Pier auf Höhe der Kerkstraat zu bauen. Die Stadtverwaltung lehnte ab, da die zentrale Planung die Badestelle zu spalten drohte. Auch Vorschläge aus den Jahren 1881 und 1883 wurden abgelehnt.
