Il Boelarebos è una collina in un'area naturale riconosciuta a livello europeo, ovvero Natura 2000. Sotto l'Hoge Buizemont ci sono quattro sorgenti che alimentano tre corsi d'acqua che scorrono lungo il bosco verso il Gaverbeek e il Dender. Il sentiero centrale attraverso il bosco è spesso utilizzato dai ciclisti. La strada è notevolmente danneggiata dalle radici degli alberi e su un grande tratto di 600 metri, la salita ha una pendenza media del 9%.
