Dopo la prima guerra mondiale, il vincitore del Tour Odiel Defraeye fondò un velodromo a Rumbeke. Negli anni '60, Albert e Patrick Sercu ripararono la pista. Alla fine, l'appassionato di ciclismo e promotore edilizio Marc Demeulenaere si occupò di una ultima ristrutturazione nel 2011. Ancora oggi è un'importante attrazione per i giovani talenti del ciclismo, gli appassionati, gli organizzatori di gare e i turisti.
Puoi visitare il velodromo solo in gruppo. Vuoi che sia comunque un po' più sportivo per te? Prova a cimentarti in un battesimo della pista e segui le orme dei flandrini.
Dal 1 novembre al 1 marzo il velodromo è chiuso per riposo invernale.
