Na de eerste wereldoorlog richtte tourwinnaar Odiel Defraeye een wielerpiste op in Rumbeke. In de jaren '60 herstelden Albert en Patrick Sercu de piste. Uiteindelijk zorgde wielerfanaat en bouwpromotor Marc Demeulenaere voor een laatste renovatie in 2011. Nog steeds is het een belangrijke aantrekkingspool voor jonge wielertalenten, wielerliefhebbers, wedstrijdorganisatoren en toeristen.
Je kan de wielerpiste enkel bezoeken in groep. Mag het toch iets sportiever zijn voor jou? Waag je aan een pistedoop en treed in de voetsporen van de flandriens.
Van 1 november tem 1 maart is de wielerpiste gesloten wegens winterrust.
