l'Eau Noire
L'Eau Noire è un fiume sorgente del Viroin che nasce a Rocroi (Francia) a un'altitudine di 350 metri. Poco dopo la sorgente, per circa cinque chilometri forma il confine con la Francia prima di deviare verso nord.
Subito dopo Couvin, la principale città lungo il fiume, una parte del fiume scorre sotterraneamente nelle Grottes de Neptune, chiamate anche "Grottes de l'Adugeoir". Il ramo sotterraneo si riunisce di nuovo con il corso principale a Nismes.
Alla "Roche à Lomme" l'Eau Noire confluisce a 150 metri di altitudine con l'Eau Blanche per formare il Viroin.
L'Eau Noire - Acqua Nera – proviene direttamente dalle foreste, il che rende l'acqua più limpida di quella dell'Eau Blanche, tanto che si può vedere più in profondità, quasi fino al fondo, dando così un'immagine più scura.
