Il nome 'de Klot' si riferisce a un ceppo, un groviglio di torba o muschio. Tra il 1250 e il 1750 qui fu estratta torba quasi su scala industriale.
La torba veniva trasportata a Roosendaal, Bergen-op-Zoom, Anversa.
Inoltre, i piani della Prima Guerra Mondiale mostrano che all'altezza della torre passava anche il Doodendraad.
Nell'ambito delle molte commemorazioni, è possibile ammirare anche una ricostruzione di questo filo alla base della torre.
La foto con il Klot bianco è ancora una foto antica, la torre è stata rinnovata nel 2024.
