Dall'altra parte del Lerebeek si trovano 'De Petitsen', una trascrizione di 'Les Petites', piccoli appezzamenti. È qui, nel borgo di Eggertingen, che Limburgs Landschap ha acquisito i suoi primi appezzamenti nel 2004. L'area naturale si è ulteriormente espansa, ma non aveva ancora un nome specifico e coprente. E quel nome non venne mai trovato... da qui il fatto che è rimasta Eggertingen!
Qui cresce anche il piccolo cardo. Questa pianta piuttosto rara indica che ci sono calcare nel terreno. Grazie a diversi anni di gestione del taglio a fasce, la pianta si è diffusa e ora si trova anche in luoghi più umidi nella valle.
