Il feodale Hof di Elsmeren fu abbattuto nel 1667 e sostituito dall'attuale complesso del castello; i lavori di ristrutturazione negli anni 1880 furono accompagnati dalla creazione di un primo parco paesaggistico (1 ettaro 73 are), i lavori di restauro e abbellimento tra il 1923 e il 1927 comportarono lo sviluppo di strutture neotradizionali, regolarmente simmetriche (giardino a parterri nel cortile del casale, terrazza, giardino acquatico) e l'abbellimento paesaggistico (colori solitari e gruppi di alberi) dell'area circostante più ampia.
