Municipio progettato da Eduard Van Steenbergen senior; piani redatti nel 1947-48, realizzazione nel 1956-64 sotto la direzione di Edward Van Steenbergen junior. Complesso indipendente a forma di T con una larga parte anteriore, la cosiddetta sezione rappresentativa di due piani, affiancata da basse gallerie con spazi espositivi e Centro della Pace; torre centrale alta 39 metri - funzione simbolica! - tra l'altro come involucro per condotti di ventilazione e riscaldamento; costruzione posteriore stretta di cinque piani, la cosiddetta sezione amministrativa con autorimesse adiacenti.
