Houthalen-Oost è un quartiere giardino di Houthalen nel comune belga di Houthalen-Helchteren, che però non è direttamente costruito attorno alla zona di Houthalen, ma è più collegato al quartiere Zwartberg di Genk. Fino al 1960 non era possibile raggiungere direttamente la zona di Houthalen da Houthalen-Oost.
Houthalen-Oost si trova sul lato ovest, circondato dalle aree naturali di Kelchterhoef e Tenhaagdoornheide e a sud dal dominio naturale e ricreativo di Hengelhoef. A nord si trova il poligono di tiro sulla Donderslagse Heide. Qui si trova anche il Dominio Masy.
