"La attuale vegetazione di canne del Parco Ter Bronnen si è sviluppata gradualmente nel luogo dove un tempo pascolavano i cavalli della famiglia Solvay. In quel periodo, il luogo naturalmente paludoso era stato drenato affinché si potesse mantenere un prato e persino un maneggio. Ma dopo la cessazione dell'attività umana, l'acqua ha riconquistato terreno e ha aperto la strada a una vegetazione tipica degli ambienti umidi.
