Inizialmente in questo luogo sorgeva il Hof ter Walle. La costruzione dell'attuale castello neorinascimentale iniziò nel 1854 e si concluse nel 1859. Il castello fu costruito su commissione del barone Polydore Piers de Raveschoot-Surmont de Volsberghe. Quattro dei suoi sei figli divennero in seguito sindaci di Olsene. Il dominio è attualmente di proprietà privata e visitabile solo per eccezione. Dal 1995 il castello è riconosciuto come monumento. Durante la giornata dell'agricoltura, ogni terza domenica di settembre, il comune di Zulte, insieme a produttori locali, organizza un Mercato Contadino.
