Il sas di Dierendonck è una costruzione idraulica costruita intorno al 1867 in cui si combinano una chiusa schiusa e una chiusa di sfogo, permettendo la gestione idrica in due reti idriche separate, da un lato per la navigazione e dall'altro per la gestione del polder. Il sas connette la rete idrica di navigazione sovrastante (costituita dal Canale di Dunkerque-Nuova Porta e dall'Ijzer, dal Lovaart e dal Canale Nuova Porta-Plassendale) e la rete di drenaggio del polder sottostante della Noordwatering Veurne (che include la Noordvaart o Veurne-Ambachtvaart, la Slijkvaart o Oostvaart e la Koolhofvaart). Il sas è protetto come monumento Sas di Dierendonck dal 03-03-2015.
