La cappella di Maria Maddalena di fronte al numero 30 di J.B. Cardijnstraat è stata costruita nel 1858. Sostituisce la più vecchia e grande cappella di quartiere di Mekingen, una delle nove chiese figlie della chiesa di San Pietro che scomparve intorno al 1840. Sopra la porta è leggibile la seguente iscrizione: 'Questa cappella è stata costruita in onore di Maria Maddalena dagli abitanti di Mekingen nell'anno 1858'. La cappella stessa ha diverse statue, tra cui una di Maria Maddalena. Santa Maria Maddalena è invocata contro la peste, le verruche e le ulcere.
La cappella è stata rinnovata nel 2016 su iniziativa del consiglio culturale.
