Dalla stazione di Boom si raggiunge Noeveren in meno di cinque minuti. Dal 1986 questo agglomerato di fornaci di Boom è un sito villaggistico protetto. Qui ha appena aperto Brik Boom. Il comune di Boom, Kempisch Landschap e l'associazione Emabb (Ecomuseo e Archivio dei Matti di Boom) hanno restaurato un'ex fornace trasformandola in un centro esperienziale.
Qui puoi ancora immaginare vividamente com'era, con le case degli operai attaccate alla fabbrica, i bagni esterni, i leuzzes (magazzini di essiccazione), il forno a cerchia con un'enorme ciminiera, il caffè e il laboratorio di falegnameria. “L'intera famiglia lavorava nella fornace. Sette bambini non erano un'eccezione. Aprivano la porta al mattino e si trovavano subito nella piazza”, racconta Annik.
"Brik Boom si rivolge a gruppi, i visitatori individuali sono benvenuti da novembre a marzo ogni seconda domenica dalle 14 alle 17, e da aprile a ottobre ogni domenica.
