Questo lavatoio in pietra calcarea risale al 1729 o intorno al 1825 , a seconda della fonte. L'edificio è stato costruito probabilmente nel XIX secolo, si trova sotto la carreggiata e presenta un ampio tetto in ardesia.
La zona lavaggio è accessibile tramite due rampe di scale ed è delimitata dal bordo sporgente della tubazione centrale alimentata dall'Eau Blanche.
Non si tratta delle tradizionali zone lavaggio con diversi lavelli per insaponare e risciacquare. Sembra che ciò sia avvenuto nella "fogna a cielo aperto".
I lavatoi divennero comuni a partire dal XVIII secolo, quando nacque l'esigenza di lavare la biancheria più di due volte l'anno a causa delle maggiori esigenze igienico-sanitarie .
