Dit kalkstenen washuis dateert uit 1729 of rond 1825, afhankelijk van de bron. Het gebouw is waarschijnlijk in de 19e eeuw gebouwd, ligt onder de rijbaan en heeft een breed leien dak.
De wasplaats is toegankelijk via twee trappen en wordt begrensd door de uitstekende rand van de centrale leiding die gevoed wordt door het Eau Blanche.
Het gaat hier niet over de traditionele wasplaatsen met verschillende wasbakken voor het inzepen en spoelen. Het lijkt er op dat dit gebeurde in de 'open riool'.
Wasplaatsen kwamen vaak voor vanaf de 18de eeuw, wanneer de behoefte ontstond om het linnen meer dan 2 keer per jaar te wassen wegens de hogere eisen inzake hygiëne en gezondheid.
