Aschau im Chiemgau è un comune nel distretto bavarese di Rosenheim con le due principali frazioni di Aschau e Sachrang. Il luogo turistico è dominato dalla Kampenwand alta 1669 metri e dal castello di Hohenaschau, che si erge nel Priental ed è datato XII secolo.
Il comune si trova a circa 23 km a sud-est di Rosenheim, a dodici chilometri a sud di Prien am Chiemsee, a 32 km a sud-ovest di Traunstein e a 28 km a nord di Kufstein, con il confine con l'Austria che dista solo 13 chilometri dal centro del paese. Aschau è la stazione terminale della Chiemgaubahn da Prien am Chiemsee; inoltre, nella frazione di Hohenaschau si trova la stazione a valle della Kampenwandbahn.
