Lichtenau è il quartiere centrale di Lichtenau nel Nord Reno-Westfalia, Germania, e fa parte del circondario di Paderborn. Il comune è sede dell'amministrazione comunale. Lichtenau è inoltre parte della regione di Bürener Land.
Partendo da sud-est, i quartieri di Lichtenau che delimitano il comune in senso orario sono Kleinenberg, Holtheim, Husen, Ebbinghausen, Grundsteinheim, Asseln e Hakenberg. Il confine orientale del comune coincide contemporaneamente con il confine comunale di Lichtenau e il confine del circondario contro il circondario di Höxter con la città di Willebadessen.
