Lichtenau est le quartier central de Lichtenau dans le Land de Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie, en Allemagne, et fait partie du district de Paderborn. La localité est le siège de l'administration municipale. Lichtenau est également une partie de la région de Bürener Land.
Au sud-est, en commençant, les quartiers de Lichtenau qui bordent la localité de Lichtenau dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre sont Kleinenberg, Holtheim, Husen, Ebbinghausen, Grundsteinheim, Asseln et Hakenberg. La limite orientale de la localité est en même temps la frontière de la ville de Lichtenau et la frontière du district contre le district de Höxter avec la ville de Willebadessen.
