Lichtenau is a district of Lichtenau, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The village is the seat of the city administration. Lichtenau is still part of the Bürener Land region.
Beginning in the southeast, the Lichtenau districts of Kleinenberg, Holtheim, Husen, Ebbinghausen, Grundsteinheim, Asseln and Hakenberg border the Lichtenau districts clockwise. The eastern boundary of the village is at the same time the Lichtenau city boundary and the district border against the district of Höxter with the town of Willebadessen.
