Minden 05 era un'associazione sportiva di Minden. La prima squadra di calcio ha giocato per cinque anni nella terza divisione, la Verbandsliga Westfalen.
Il 15 maggio 1905 fu fondato il primo club calcistico della città, il FC Westfalia Minden. Nello stesso anno seguì il FC Viktoria Minden, che nel 1909 si fuse con la Westfalia per formare il Mindener Sport Club. Due anni dopo, il Mindener SC si fuse con il dipartimento sportivo del TV Jahn Minden per formare il Mindener Spielverein 05. Nel 1910 furono inoltre fondati i club BV Fortuna Minden e Wacker Minden, che dopo la Prima Guerra Mondiale si associarono nella SpVgg Fortuna-Wacker Minden. Infine, nel 1925, il Spielverein e Fortuna-Wacker si fusero per formare la Mindener Spielvereinigung 05.
