L'Istituto Max Planck per Radioastronomia si trova a Bonn-Endenich nel Nordreno-Vestfalia.
I principali ambiti di lavoro dell'istituto sono la radioastronomia e l'infrarosso astronomia. L'Istituto Max Planck per Radioastronomia è stato fondato nel 1966. Da allora è stato avviato il costruzione del radiotelescopio da 100 metri di Effelsberg a Bad Münstereifel-Effelsberg, la cui messa in servizio è avvenuta nel 1972.
