La biblioteca audio per ciechi della Germania occidentale e.V. è stata fondata per rendere accessibili libri e riviste a ciechi e persone con disabilità visiva grave. Come la più grande biblioteca della sua categoria in Germania, è responsabile principalmente per il Nord Reno-Westfalia, la Renania-Palatinato e il Saarland all'interno della rete di biblioteche per ciechi, ma serve anche i suoi utenti in altri stati federali e all'estero. Possono essere serviti anche disabili fisici che non possono maneggiare un libro. Il presidente della WBH è Siegfried Volkert.
