La Casa Obereimer era una fattoria di proprietà dei principi elettori di Colonia e il centro del giardino principesco di Arnsberg. Dal XIX secolo ospita l'ufficio forestale statale di Arnsberg. Oggi il quartiere circostante porta il nome di Obereimer.
Nel territorio dell'attuale quartiere cittadino esistevano nel Medioevo diverse fattorie che erano soggette a tributo da vari signori. Il sommelier del principe elettore Hermann Dücker riuscì, a partire dal 1627, ad acquistare diverse terre e diritti feudali sui poderi, trasformandole in un feudo nobiliare esente da tassazioni e contributi, idoneo per i parlamenti nobiliari.
