Il Museo Marittimo Tedesco di Wilhelmshaven rappresenta lo sviluppo della navigazione militare tedesca dal 1848. Il focus del museo è sulla rappresentazione della Bundesmarine/Marina tedesca. È stato inaugurato nel 1998 ed è gestito da un ente privato.
Il museo si trova tra il porto di collegamento e il lungomare di Sudstrand, in prossimità del simbolo della città di Wilhelmshaven, il ponte Kaiser-Wilhelm. Il museo è ospitato nell'edificio dell'ex "Scheibenhofwerkstatt" al Sudstrand 125. La Scheibenhofwerkstatt è un edificio storico che fa parte del patrimonio culturale ed è il resto del cantiere navale imperiale costruito intorno al 1888. Annesso al museo c'è un'area all'aperto di circa 3000 m² con posti barca direttamente al porto di collegamento.
