L'area naturale protetta Großes Torfmoor è un alto moor nel nord-est della Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia, nei comuni di Lübbecke e Hille. Il moor si trova in una valle tra le montagne Wiehen e il canale Mittelland e con 467 ha è il più significativo alto moor della Vestfalia.
Il moor si trova nella zona di confine tra la città di Lübbecke e il comune di Hille nel distretto di Minden-Lübbecke. A nord è delimitato dal canale Mittelland. Da alcuni anni, anche l'area ad est adiacente, una striscia larga 2-3 km a sud del canale, che comprende le praterie di Mindener, considerate però come prati acquatici utilizzati in modo agricolo estensivo, è inclusa nel "parco naturale Großes Torfmoor".
