Originariamente, in questo sito si trovava un "mulino blu", dove le piante di guado venivano lavorate con l'aiuto della forza idrica. Il succo ottenuto, dopo la fermentazione, aveva un colore blu, l'indaco. Nel registro dei diritti d'acqua di Nesselrath del 1605 è annotato che il mulino fu costruito da Sebastian Tenz intorno al 1599. Probabilmente solo all'inizio del XVIII secolo sorse una mola come doppio mulino in stile a traliccio. Gli edifici secondari precedenti in stile a traliccio sono stati conservati. Nel 1906 bruciò il mulino esterno. Fu sostituito l'anno successivo da un edificio in mattoni. Fino a quel momento, la ruota idraulica era ancora in funzione. Solo dopo la ricostruzione delle macerie dell'incendio, la forza idrica fu sostituita dall'elettricità. Fino al 1979, un'azienda di Solingen con 45 dipendenti produceva lame per la industria delle posate.
