La centrale termoelettrica a biomassa di Sellessen è una centrale elettrica messa in funzione nel 2006, costruita in seguito allo spostamento del villaggio di Haidemühl.
I lavori sono iniziati a maggio 2005, la prima accensione della caldaia è avvenuta il 19 novembre 2005 e il primo collegamento alla rete già il 6 dicembre 2005. L'inaugurazione ufficiale si è svolta il 13 aprile 2006 alla presenza del ministro dell'Ambiente Sigmar Gabriel. La vecchia località di Haidemühl ha dovuto cedere il passo all'avanzamento della miniera a cielo aperto di Welzow-Süd. Tra le proprietà messe a disposizione per lo spostamento, gli abitanti di Haidemühl hanno scelto in maggioranza l'attuale terreno a Sellessen a Spremberg. Haidemühl è oggi una frazione della città di Spremberg.
