Asbeck è stata menzionata per la prima volta in un documento nel 1092. Nel XII secolo fu fondata un'istituzione nobiliare per donne ad Asbeck, che esistette fino al 1805. Ad Asbeck appartengono le frazioni di Frettholt a nord del villaggio, Eißingort a est e Wehr a ovest. Dal 1 luglio 1969, Asbeck fa parte del comune di Legden.
