Il Felswatt di Helgoland con il suo rispettivo "mondo sottomarino" fa parte della riserva naturale del basamento roccioso di Helgoland ed è l'unico habitat della sua specie in Germania. Si trova a ovest e a nord di Helgoland. Si asciuga durante la bassa marea. L'escursione media delle maree qui è di 2,30 metri. Il Felswatt è emerso nel corso dei secoli a causa dell'erosione graduale della scogliera dell'isola rocciosa.
