Il villaggio di Fohlenplacken si trova a circa 1,5 km a nord-ovest dal centro di Neuhaus, sulla Holzminde, a un'altitudine compresa tra 295 e 340 m. La strada provinciale 50 tra Neuhaus e Holzminden attraversa l'abitato.
Il territorio in cui un tempo il monastero di Corvey possedeva diritti di custodia era chiamato Fülleplacke in epoca moderna. L'ufficio di Allersheim permetteva di pascolare puledri nei prati situati su questo piccolo terreno. Nel XVIII secolo fu costruito un mulino come primo edificio; seguirono altre nuove abitazioni. La Glasurmühle è stata occasionalmente un fornitore per la manifattura di porcellana di Fürstenberg. Nel 2017, a nord del villaggio, è stata condotta un'indagine archeologica sulla Waldglashütte sulla Holzminde, considerata la seconda più antica della sua specie in Europa.
