Nella comunità amministrativa di Osternienburg del distretto di Anhalt-Bitterfeld, 14 comuni erano riuniti per svolgere le proprie mansioni amministrative. Il 1° gennaio 2005, ai comuni già esistenti della comunità amministrativa di Osternienburg si sono aggiunti i comuni di Großpaschleben, Kleinpaschleben, Trinum e Zabitz dalla comunità amministrativa disciolta di Ziethetal, oltre al comune di Libbesdorf dalla comunità amministrativa disciolta di Oberes Ziethetal.
Il 1° gennaio 2010, tutti i comuni membri si sono uniti per formare il comune unificato di Osternienburger Land. La comunità amministrativa è stata sciolta.
