Il Château de la Porte Mars è stata una residenza degli arcivescovi della città francese di Reims. La data di inizio dei lavori non è ancora precisa; le prime fortificazioni potrebbero essere state erette già nel 1170, ma si fa più spesso riferimento alla data del 1228. Prosper Tarbé data la prima edificazione di questo castello o di un edificio precedente intorno al 922-927. È Henri de Braine, allora arcivescovo di Reims, a dare l'avvio ai lavori di costruzione di questo castello; esso comprende l'arco di trionfo romano già presente nella muraglia sin dalla costruzione della recinzione nel IV secolo. Allora era una delle grandi fortificazioni del nord-est della Francia.
