Champtel significa campo dei tigli. Piazza pubblica nel centro di La Bresse. Un tiglio un tempo ospitava una panchina in pietra dove veniva amministrata la giustizia. La fontana di granito di questa piazza è dedicata a Joseph Remy, un Bressaud che nel XIX secolo inventò la riproduzione artificiale delle trote.
